Dont know who here has seen it, but there is
a very good british film called War Zone, about incest. Came out a couple of years ago, or last year.
I expect most people would say that Incest is a tasteless subject to make a film about.
I think its tasteless to pretend these things dont happen.
The more you bring things like this out into the open the easier it is to confront and deal with them. The silent enemy is a lot harder to fight than the loud one.
Britain is such a reserved country - as is the States.
A WTC film is an excellent idea, it should confront the reasons behind the hatred and the reasons for the attacks and possibly what could be done about it in the future.
Most social changes are brought about by not heeding common opinion - but it takes a brave and certain person to do it.

point i was trying to make here is that were all quick deem to something in bad taste but when pressed for a reason weer stuck.

The arguemnt close to peoples heart is a strange one, because people also say that when a film is good, mmm

also the two versions of a WTC film, if it was for money making purposes then the second one would be the bread winner and that would be more cashing in than WTC Crazy.

I like eddies point i think its tastelss to pretend these things dont happen,

and if we were actually to analyse what we do watch then theres far worst than people being traped in a burning building

And finaly it bugs me when people dont get a rhetorical statement

my point is that the attack on WTC was, if not caused, helped because the states ignored a problem that gave many warning signs.
A film which boldly confronted some of these issues would get tongues wagging and people talking, may help them to be aware of what their government does abroad in their name, but which they rarely hear about.
It might also land the director in jail, or worse.

I gave out about Hollywood romantising the IRA. In stuff like The Devils Own, the script was re written from IRA are evil to IRA are misunderstood to coincide with the peace process. The IRA are scum but lets not forget all the unionist scum either.

I think a film on the wtc attack would be a bad idea from the beginning.

Could you film it without creating propaganda? Would you not, so soon after the event, run the risk of misrepresenting the "facts" and undermining the film's intent?

I beleive the best films on an event, are those that follow the rest, once all the hype has settled down, when there is no reason to tell a story, that is the best time.
